Business Planning

A starting point for most entrepreneurs is how to operate their business.  Most desire asset protection, but there are many other factors to consider, such as: tax planning; retirement planning; employee benefit planning; formality planning; continuity planning; transfer planning; and etc.  Is an LLC right for you?  California, as of 1.1.2009, does not permit "professionals" to operate as and LLC.  The trouble, however, is that "professional" is not as clear as one would think.  This is not true in other jurisdictions.  One need be careful as there are many other traps for the unwary.  Unfortunately, Mr. Edwards has seen examples of self-help planning gone horribly awry.
